The Story Behind Mae Mae's

Every dream starts somewhere. For Mae Mae's bakery it started in my home kitchen. Not long after getting married I decided that the long list of ingredients on store bought breads and treats was not the way I wanted to go for my family. I soon started figuring out how to make wholesome bread for us. I've also always believed that some of life's best memories are made around homemade food. Growing up my mom made all of my birthday cakes and now I get to continue that tradition in my family.

What began as baking for family and freinds grew into something bigger. As more people tasted our cookies, breads, cakes and treats, I realized this little dream was something truly special. Wholesome, quality goodies becoming apart of your weekly tables and celenrations.

Today, Mae Mae's Bakery is a Colorado Springs Cottage Bakery focused on creating homemade goodies with intentional ingredients and a whole lot of love.

We believe that food should bring people together. Whether it's a birthday cake, a loaf of fresh bread for dinner, cookies with friends or a cinnamon roll enjoyed with your morning coffee, we love being apart of those moments.

As we continue to grow, our vision reaches beyond the bakery. Our long-term dream is to build Mae Mae's Bakery & Brews where homemade bakes goods and thoughtfully crafted coffee come together.

Meet The Team

Krista Morgan

Baker & Founder

Krista is a wife, bonus mom, momma of two, home baker, coffee lover and the heart behind Mae Mae's.

I've always loved hosting and creating things that bring people together. One of the things most important to me is being intentional with what I create. That's why you will often hear me talking about ingredients, homemade foods and making thoughtful choices whenever possible. The goal isn't perfection-it's creating experiences that feel meaninful and filled with care.

When i'm not baking you can find me on a morning walk with my boys, spending time with my family, reading or sitting in the grass.

Tim Morgan

Tim Morgan is Krista's Husband and plays an important role in Mai Mai’s Bakery. From being a trusted taste tester to helping capture photos and videos when needed, he supports the creative and practical side of the bakery in meaningful ways.

Whether he's filming content, giving honest feedback, running to the grocery store, or helping bring ideas to life, his support helps things running smoothly. This bakery is a family effort in every sense.

Aaron & Marji Winters

Support Team

Aaron and Marji are Krista's parens and play a meaningful behind-the-scenes role in Mai Mai’s Bakery. As trusted taste testers and helping hands, they support the day-to-day needs of the bakery in simple but important ways.

From grocery runs to offering feedback on new recipes, their encouragment and involvement help keep everything running smoothly. Thier support is a steady part of what makes this small home bakery possible.

Our Why

At the heart of Mai Mai’s Bakery is family. Our boys are the inspiration behind everything we create - from choosing better ingredients to slowing down and making food with intention.

While we keep their lives private, they are the reason why this bakery exists. Every loaf, cookie, cinnamon roll and cake are made with the same care and love that we pour into our home and our own table each day.

Why Mae Mae's

The name comes from a sweet family name. When my firstborn was little, he couldn't say mama, he called me Mae Mae instead. And it stuck

What We Are Building

What started as a home bakery is growing into something bigger. Our dream is to expand into Mae Mae's Bakey & Brews, a coffee cart serving handcrafted drinks alongside our baked goods. Long-term, we're building a welcoming space where good coffee, wholesome treats, and community come together.
